2025 CACC Baseball Championship Preview

It’s playoff time in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference—and if this season has taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected. A league split cleanly between north and south divisions now comes together with eight teams, four best-of-three first-round showdowns, and a double-elimination final four hosted by perennial power Wilmington University.

Jefferson enters as the No. 1 overall seed, but they’re not the only team with regional championship dreams. Goldey-Beacom showed the ability to get hot. Post is the defending champ. Dominican and Felician split the North crown. And even Chestnut Hill and Caldwell have pulled off big wins this spring.

Let’s dive into the matchups, the storylines, and what to watch as the chase for the automatic bid to the NCAA DII East Regional begins.

First-Round Matchups (Best-of-Three Series)

🧭 North Division

(1) Dominican (35-15, 28-8) vs. (4) Caldwell (21-26, 14-22)

Don’t be fooled by the seeding: Caldwell played spoiler late and enters with nothing to lose. Dominican, meanwhile, rides a potent lineup and home-field advantage into a series where they swept Caldwell earlier in the year. Can the Chargers finish the job again?

(2) Felician (34-16, 28-8) vs. (3) Post (26-23, 22-14)

The defending champs from Post know how to win in May. Felician is out for revenge and boasts one of the deepest rotations in the CACC. This is arguably the most even series of the round, with two programs used to playing postseason baseball.

🌐 South Division

(1) Jefferson (35-13, 27-7) vs. (4) Chestnut Hill (25-20, 20-14)I

Intra-city playoff series? Yes, please. The Rams are the No. 1 overall seed for a reason, but the Griffins can grind out low-scoring games and have a veteran core that won’t shy away from the spotlight. Jefferson took three of four in regular season.

(2) Wilmington (31-19, 23-11) vs. (3) Goldey-Beacom (33-17, 23-11)

A rematch between two crosstown rivals—Wilmington’s power bats versus Goldey-Beacom’s speed and relentless aggression. GBC is toward the top in D2 in steals and carries major momentum. But Wilmington has championship pedigree and home-field edge. These two split in the regular season, which happened to be just last weekend.

🏆 Double-Elimination Bracket (May 8–10 – Hosted by Wilmington University)

At Wilson Field in New Castle, the final four survivors from the first round will battle in a three-day sprint to the title. The double-elimination format rewards depth—on the mound and in the dugout.

What to Watch:

  • Will Jefferson or Dominican justify their top seeds with a title run?

  • Can Goldey-Beacom translate regular-season buzz into postseason success?

  • Does Post have another Cinderella run in them?

  • And which pitching staff survives the gauntlet?
