April 13th D2 Baseball Top 25: Two New Teams Enter the Rankings, a new No.2 in D2 Baseball

There is a slight change to the Top 5 in the April 13th D2 Baseball Top 25 rankings. Colorado Mesa (38-3) remains at No.1 after a home sweep of UCCS in one of our six series to watch picks. North Greenville (36-7) jumps two spots to No.2 after a 4-0 week. The Trailblazers beat Anderson in a midweek before a road sweep of RV UNC Pembroke in another series to watch pick. Catawba (32-7) stays at No.3, beating ranked Belmont Abbey in extras in the midweek with a weekend sweep over Lincoln Memorial. Tampa drops to No.4, going 2-2 on the week. The Spartans lost a midweek game to Valdosta State and went 2-1 against Nova Southeastern, going 2-2 on the week. It took a go-ahead 9th-inning home run by Jordan Evans to avoid the series loss to NSU.
Pittsburg State (31-8) remains at No.5 after a 3-1 week. The Gorillas swept Northeastern State on the road over the weekend but lost a midweek game against Missouri Southern. Point Loma (32-7) was idle this week and remains at No.6.
Grand Valley State (30-6) went 4-0 over the weekend against Roosevelt on the road. The Lakers hit six home runs in the final game of the series to complete the sweep, winning 22-6. Francis Marion (34-8) swept the week, going 4-0 with a midweek win over Lander and a home sweep against Ferrum.
UT Tyler (33-9) remains at No.9 after a sweep at Sul Ross State. The two teams played three games on Friday. Rogers State (33-6) remains at No.10, taking two of three against then-ranked Northwest Missouri State in a series to watch pick. The Hillcats also beat Arkansas-Fort Smith in a midweek game.
West Alabama (31-9) went 3-1 this week, beating Mississippi College in a midweek contest before winning both games of the doubleheader Saturday to win the series against No.22 West Florida in the D2 Baseball Series of the Week.
Lenoir-Rhyne (30-8-1) remains at No.12 with a 4-0 week, beating Barton in a midweek game with a weekend sweep over Emory & Henry. Belmont Abbey (31-9) moves four spots to No.13 with a sweep over Southern Wesleyan and a tightly contested extra-inning loss to No.3 Catawba.
Cal State Monterey Bay (28-10) remains at No.14 after a 3-1 series win against Cal State San Marcos.
Central Missouri (28-9) won a midweek against Drury and won two of three against Fort Hays State, going 3-1 on the week and remaining at No.15.
Young Harris (31-11) went 3-1 with a series win over Emmanuel in the Roar War and a midweek win over Mars Hill.
North Georgia (34-11) drops four spots to No.17. The Nighthawks went 3-2 on the week, splitting a doubleheader against Nova Southeastern with a series win against Columbus State.
Seton Hill (29-7) moves up two spots to No.18 after a four-game sweep against Pitt-Johnstown. Seton Hill lost a midweek game to Frostburg State, going 4-1 on the week.
Wayne State (MI) (26-8) remains at No.19 with a series win over Saginaw Valley State.
Rollins (28-9) moves up one spot to No.20 with a three-game sweep over Barry on the road.
Saint Mary's (TX) (32-10) enters the Top 25 for the first time this season after the Rattlers swept Cameron in four games.
West Florida (30-11) went 3-2 on the week, beating Columbus State twice before dropping two of three games to No.11 West Alabama. The Argonauts remain at No.23.
Wingate (30-12) went 2-2 on the week, as they lost to RV UNC Pembroke in the midweek, but won two of three against Newberry.
MSU Denver (31-7) moves up to No.24 after a series win over Colorado Christian, going 3-1 on the week. Minnesota State (25-8) enters the Top 25 at No.25 after going 6-1 on the week, winning two games each against Bemidji State, Wayne State (NE), and Southwest Minnesota State.
