New No. 3, Three New Teams Enter Top 25 in Latest Division II Baseball Rankings

The latest Division II baseball rankings feature a shake-up in the top three, three new teams entering the top 25, and additional movement throughout the list. Lenoir-Rhyne has surged into the No. 3 spot, while three new teams—Davenport, Rollins, and Fort Hays State—make their debut in this week’s top 25.

Tampa remains the nation’s top-ranked team, holding firm at No. 1 with a 23-4 record, followed by Westmont (24-5) at No. 2. Lenoir-Rhyne (24-4) climbs two spots from No. 5 to No. 3, overtaking Central Missouri, which falls from No. 3 to No. 5. Angelo State holds steady at No. 4 with a 24-6 mark.
Among the biggest movers, UT Tyler (25-8) jumps two spots to No. 7, and Young Harris (20-9) climbs to No. 17 after an impressive series win over now No.9 North Greenville.
Meanwhile, three teams—Davenport (No. 23), Rollins (No. 24), and Fort Hays State (No. 25)—break into the top 25 5hiw week. The teams they replace include Augustana, Chico State, and Southern New Hampshire, who all drop out of the rankings, but are still receiving votes.
The Southeast Region continues to dominate the rankings, boasting six teams in the top 25. The PSAC leads all conferences with four ranked teams, followed closely by the LSC and SSC, each with three representatives. The South and Atlantic regions remain evenly matched, each placing four teams in the rankings.
Additionally, three new teams—Colorado Mesa, Lubbock Christian, and North Georgia—enter the "receiving votes" category, indicating that they are on the radar for potential top-25 consideration in the coming weeks. Mesa has played well in RMAC action, sitting atop the league at 11-1 in conference play. After an 0-4 start in LSC play, Lubbock is 19-5 since and enters the conversation after three straight conference series wins, including taking three of four against Angelo a few weeks back. They're hitting .355 as a team through 30 games, and Brevin McCool is hitting .466 with 19 HR, 11 2B, and 4 3B with 50 RBI and 49 Runs scored. North Georgia took a series from RV Lander over the weekend, and are now 13-4 this season at home.
With conference play in full swing, expect more movement in the rankings as top teams battle for positioning in the national picture.
