Now, here’s the nine players who had their name called in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Owen Henne - SS, Seton Hill - St. Louis Cardinals (Round 6, Pick 175)
Owen Henne, the junior from Wexford, PA, spent three seasons at Seton Hill before announcing his commitment to play at West Virginia. However, that may go by the wayside, as the St. Louis Cardinals selected him in the sixth round. Henne was the highest drafted player in Seton Hill program history and was the first Division II player selected in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Henne, a three-year starter for the Griffins, slashed .354/.446/.522 in 564 total plate appearances. His average climbed from .259 his freshman year, to .375 his sophomore year, to .401 his junior year. In both 2025 and 2026, Henne was a First Team All-Atlantic Region selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and he was a First Team All-PSAC West selection both seasons (2025, 2026).
Here's video of Owen Henne's bases-clearing triple in the 4th inning in Game 3 of the 2024 NCAA DII Atlantic Super Regional (video from PSAC Digital Network).
Jack Scott - RHP, Central Missouri - Colorado Rockies (Round 7, Pick 194)
Jack Scott, a junior from Olathe, KS, was the second name called in the MLB Draft and the 41st player from Central Missouri drafted since 1965. Scott pitched three seasons for the Mules, totaling 146.1 innings in that span. In 2024, Scott earned the MIAA Co-Freshman of the Year, as well as a Third Team All-MIAA selection after going 5-2 with a 3.71 ERA over 53.1 innings. He also held batters to a .224 batting average against that season. In 2025, he was fully immersed into the rotation, starting sixteen games for the national runner-up. In 85.2 innings, he went 4-1 with a 4.41 ERA and earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA honors. He threw just 7.1 innings this past spring before an injury cut his season short.
However, in his first start against North Greenville on Jan. 31 (played at Astros' Daikin Park), he sat 93-95 miles per hour (mph) with his Sinker and had a Curveball at 78-80 mph that averaged 18 inches of horizontal movement and 16 inches of vertical movement.
Here's video of Scott striking out a batter on February 7th with a 96 mph fastball (video from MIAA Network).
Evan Morrison - SS, Grand Valley State - Texas Rangers (Round 10, Pick 297)
In back-to-back years, the Texas Rangers selected a Division II player in the 10th round. Last season, at pick 295, the Rangers selected Central Missouri's J.D. McReynolds. This season, they followed with the senior from Wheatley, Ontario (Canada) in Morrison.
For those who follow the draft trends, Morrison fit very well into the hitting class, as someone who makes a lot of contact with the baseball and rarely swings and miss.
Morrison hit .410 in 2026 with 104 hits, 88 runs, 15 doubles, and 51 RBI. He struck out just seven times over 288 plate appearances and stole 27 bases. He was a consensus All-American and a Third Team D2 Baseball All-American. Also, Morrison was a consensus First Team All-Midwest Region and was the 2026 GLIAC Player of the Year.

Charlie Bussey III - OF, Francis Marion - San Francisco Giants (Round 11, Pick 328)
Arguably one the best Division II prospects in history, redshirt junior Charlie Bussey III hears his name called in the 11th round by the Giants. He became the 31st player in program history to either be drafted or sign a free agent contract with an MLB organization. The reigning 2026 D2 Baseball Player of the Year had a season never before done in D2 Baseball history with a 20+ 2B, 20+ HR, 40+ SB season AND a 100+ hit, 100+ run, and 40+ stolen base season. In all, he slashed .489/.604/.866 with 113 hits, 22 2Bs, 21 HRs, 77 RBI, and 40 SB. He also broke the all-time Division II Baseball record with 118 runs.
For data nerds, Bussey III recorded a max Exit Velocity of 111 mph, showcasing his power.
In his career at FMU, Bussey hit .412 with 234 total hits, 48 doubles, 35 home runs, and 166 RBI with 63 stolen bases.
Here's video of Bussey III hitting a towering home run in the Conference Carolinas Tournament in 2025 (video from Conference Carolinas Digital Network).
Dustin Hagens - RHP, Missouri St. Louis - New York Mets (Round 15, Pick 450)
The junior from Fulton, MO became the first UMSL Triton drafted since 2005. Hagens was a first team All-GLVC and second team All-Midwest Region selection for the Tritons in 2026. He went 4-1 with a 3.89 ERA over 39.1 innings with 57 strikeouts this past spring.
In an outing, Hagens was recorded at 93-95 miles per hour with his fastball, topping out at 96 mph.
Here's video of Hagens recording the final out against UIndy in the GLVC conference tournament (video from GLVCSN).
Brandon Crabtree - 1B, Catawba - Texas Rangers (Round 16, Pick 477)
The junior from Pittsboro, North Carolina played just one season with the Indians (transfer from JUCO Gaston College), but made the most of it as the first Catawba player drafted since 2019.
A D2 Baseball First Team All-American selection, Crabtree mashed with a .413 average with 102 hits, 24 doubles, 18 home runs and 73 RBI. He also was given the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors in 2026 and led the way for a Catawba team that was a national semifinalist.
Here's video of Crabtree delivering a game-tying RBI double in the 9th of an elimination game in the World Series (video from NCAA.com)
Greyson Chappel - RHP, Central Missouri - Los Angeles Angels (Round 18, Pick 529)
Prior to his lone season with Central Missouri in 2026, the 6-foot-8 junior from Shawnee, KS spent two seasons at Paris Junior College. Chappel's selection made him the 42nd Mule to be drafted since 1965. The right-hander was selected Second Team All-MIAA and Second Team All-Central Region by the ABCA this past spring.
His 2026 was no slouch for a team that made it to Cary. Over 43.1 innings (12 starts), Chappel posted a 2.91 ERA with 52 strikeouts, limiting opponents to a .179 batting average. In his season opening start against Rollins, he sat 93-94 miles per hour with the fastball, topping out at 95 miles per hour with 18 inches of vertical movement (which is 2 inches above MLB average for 4-seam fastballs).
Here's video of some of Chappel's pitches in a Feb. 6 start (video from Perfect Game).
Jake Berkland - SS, Minnesota State - Chicago White Sox (Round 19, Pick 555)
Berkland, the sophomore from Wayzata, MN is one of the two last DII selections and the last of two selections from Minnesota State. He is the 38th Minnesota State player to be drafted in the MLB Draft. The shortstop in 2026 hit .366 with 11 doubles, 11 home runs, 47 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. He earned a First Team All-NSIC selection and a consensus All-Central Region honors.
In 2025, Berkland primarily played outfield and hit .316 as a freshman. He was committed to transfer to the Division I University of Kansas but is likely to sign with the White Sox.
Here's video of Berkland hitting for the cycle in a February 15th game (video from the MIAA Network).
Sam George - LHP, Minnesota State - Milwaukee Brewers (Round 19, Pick 581)
George, the junior from Bettendorf, IA was the last DII player selected and the last of two Minnesota State players selected. Should he not sign, however, he will be transferring to the University of Iowa in 2027.
In George's career with the Mavericks, he went 17-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 167 strikeouts in 165.2 innings over three seasons. He was selected a D2 Baseball Second Team All-American in 2025 after going 8-0 with a 2.97 ERA in 60.2 innings. In 2026, he went 7-3 with a 3.53 ERA, earning him First Team All-NSIC honors.
George was the 39th Maverick selected in the MLB Draft.
