Thirteen straight RMAC regular-season titles. That’s the dynasty Colorado Mesa is riding into this year’s tournament — and once again, they’ll be hosting the show at The Diamond in Grand Junction.
But this is no victory lap.
Regis is right on their heels with one of the most dangerous lineups in the country. CSU Pueblo is stealing bases like it’s the ’80s. MSU Denver has more extra-base hits than most teams. And there’s just enough chaos in this six-team double-elimination bracket to make Saturday a wild ride.
Let’s set the scene for the 2025 RMAC Baseball Championship, running May 7–10 with a South Central Regional ticket on the line.

🧱 THE FIELD
🥇 No. 1 Colorado Mesa (36-11, 26-4 RMAC)
Still the standard. The Mavericks led the RMAC in both runs scored (400) and ERA (5.38) — a rare feat that highlights their balance. Cameron Cartwright (.483 BA, 14 HR, 51 RBI in RMAC play) has been a monster in the heart of the order, and Gauge Lockhard (5-1) headlines a deep, experienced rotation. They open against No. 6 UCCS, a team that’s gone cold, but is still capable of an upset if Mesa looks ahead.
🥈 No. 2 Regis (34-14, 24-6 RMAC)
If you want fireworks, look no further. The Rangers led the RMAC in batting average (.393) and were second in runs (387). Adam Paniagua (.492, 15 HR, 66 RBI) has been unstoppable and might be the best pure hitter in the region. On the mound, Nick Jacobs (5-0, 4.46 ERA) and Ryan Garcia (5-0) form a duo that can get Regis into championship Saturday.
🥉 No. 3 CSU Pueblo (32-18, 22-10 RMAC)
The ThunderWolves rank fourth in team batting average (.368), third in ERA, and first in stolen bases (74 SB). They don’t give out free passes (fewest walks allowed in RMAC play), and they’ve got contact bats galore. Christian Castaneda (.459 BA), Elijah Borjas, and Wyatt Reginato all hit north of .420. This team is annoying to pitch to and even harder to put away.
🟫 No. 4 MSU Denver (30-20, 22-10 RMAC)
The Roadrunners are power merchants: 80 home runs, 110 doubles, and a ridiculous .719 slugging percentage in RMAC play. Easton Amundson (20 HR) leads the barrage, with Cam Yuran (14 HR) and Andrew Graham (20 2B) adding more thump. They’ll need to pitch better (7.85 ERA in league play), but this offense can absolutely carry them for a weekend.
🟨 No. 5 Adams State (17-33, 13-19 RMAC)
The Grizzlies limp into the tournament on an eight-game losing streak, but don’t count them out. They hit 60 bombs in RMAC play (third in the league) and have a few key guys who can catch fire. Josiah Hall (.398, 43 RBI) and Josh Parks (.397) form a dangerous duo, and if they can scrape together some pitching, they could surprise Regis in the opener.
🟥 No. 6 UCCS (23-24, 12-18 RMAC)
It’s been a rough stretch for the Mountain Lions — just one win in their last eight. But they’ve got real bats. Mikey Brinton (.465 BA), Kit Wigington (.417), and Caleb Chance (.409) can make any game messy for opposing pitchers. Their pitching staff (7.98 ERA) has been shaky, but if Ryder Mancuso or Jason Fink catch lightning, they might throw a wrench into Mesa’s bracket.

🧨 WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Can Regis finally topple Mesa? The Rangers have the offense. They’ve got the pitching. But they’ve also gone 0–2 against Mesa this year.
Is MSU Denver’s power sustainable? When they hit, they hang crooked numbers. But when the long ball doesn’t show up, they’ve struggled to string together wins.
Can CSU Pueblo run their way deep? Speed and contact are their identity — and it plays well in postseason chaos.
Will UCCS or Adams State pull the early upset? Both have offensive firepower and nothing to lose. Watch for wild games early.

🧠 Final Word
Colorado Mesa is the perennial king. Regis is the loudest challenger in years. But with six teams capable of popping off offensively — and pitching always volatile in this thin air — this tournament is wide open. Welcome to Grand Junction. It’s go time.
